In the framework of the French association to fight illicit trade ALCCI (www.alcci.fr), Professor Gabriele Jacobs (Coordinator of the ISM-KA project) presented the education model, which will constitute the basis for the incoming Master’s Programme on International Security Management developed under the ISM-KA project.
The event, in the form of Working Breakfast, took place in Paris on May 31st at the Cercle Suédois where around 20 people representing different French companies operating in different business areas and open to take into account security issues met in order to primarily discuss on how companies could organise themselves to address illicit trade.
Among excellent experts, such as the General Director of the French association of safety and security managers, the Vice president of the French association of risk managers, the Compliance officer of United technologies in Europe, the Vice president of ADIT and a representative of IBM security information management , Professor Gabriele Jacobs took the floor to present the ISM-KA core activities during a tailored session dedicate to “Information management for intelligence and training/education”.
As lessons learned from the interactive working group, it has been stressed that Companies have to organize themselves along a few key guidelines that can be summarized as follow:
- A multidisciplinary and collective approach under the top leadership;
- A continuous and cyclic process of observation-assessment and analysis/action;
- A strong attention and commitment for information management to develop a relevant strategic intelligence capacity.
- A full readiness of the various internal stakeholders to work together to address security issues
This event was a useful opportunity to discuss about some of the main features in the interest of ISM-KA such as multiple stakeholders, co-creation, as well as evidence based management in the safety and security domain and, it will contribute to enlarge the network of Stakeholders that can ensure the fruitful development of the ISM-KA main outcomes.
