Critical Events Management Model

The CEMM project aims at enhancing the transnational and inter-agency cooperation among those actors involved in the management of emergency and crisis situations which involve large population masses.

Thanks to the development of a management model, CEMM project will serve as a European knowledge basis of organizational and operative issues in the field, ensuring a more efficient and effective cooperation at the National and European level during emergency situations.

For these purposes, four different categories of critical events have been analysed by a case studies approach: terrorist events, natural events, industrial and technological events, socio-cultural mass events. Strengths and weaknesses have been highlighted and best practices have been identified in relation to the overall management of the incidents’ scenarios; international experts in the field of crisis management have also been involved in the analysis stage and for the evaluation of results.
